The Jets’ current QB depth chart is the football equivalent of a torn-up bomb shelter.
The New York Jets have plenty of holes to fill in the 2017 NFL draft, but none may be as big as the void at quarterback. The franchise currently has three passers on its roster; together, they combined to go 1-6 as starters last fall.
So when Jets head coach Todd Bowles told reporters the team will be looking into adding a rookie signal caller this spring, it didn’t exactly come as a surprise.
“There is a scenario [where the Jets would use the No. 6 pick on a QB], yes, Bowles told reporters at the league’s annual meeting in Phoenix. We’ll see how it falls, and we’ll look at the pros and cons of it and we’ll make that decision. But there is a scenario.”

In the AFC, a more familiar face was honored for his offensive performance. Ben Roethlisberger soldiered through bad weather to throw for 367 yards and four touchdowns on 29-for-45 passing and help the Pittsburgh Steelers upset the Detroit Lions. The win moved the Steelers to 4-6 on the season, keeping them in the picture for what is shaping up to be a hotly-contested battle for the AFC’s final wild card spot.
